Halmar Friesen Racing is joining several industry personnel in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series garage this weekend in paying tribute to the late Kyle Busch at Charlotte Motor Speedway, running throwback schemes to honor the winningest driver in series history.

The multi-truck NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series team, which fields the No. 52 and No. 62 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro full-time, revealed a pair of throwback schemes on Tuesday, honoring Busch and his time in the Truck Series with Kyle Busch Motorsports.

Jimmy Villeneuve, the crew chief of the No. 62 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, spent several years as an engineer and shot caller for Kyle Busch Motorsports, making these tributes especially meaningful for everyone on the Halmar Friesen Racing team.

Stewart Friesen, driver of the No. 52 Halmar International Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, will run a throwback paint scheme inspired by the No. 51 Miccosukee Toyota Tundra that Busch drove for several events at Billy Ballew Motorsports from 2007 to 2009, winning nine NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series events.

Leland Honeyman, Jr., driver of the No. 62 Halmar International Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Halmar Friesen Racing, will be running another iconic paint scheme on his entry, designed to match the No. 18 TRAXXAS Toyota Tundra that Busch ran for Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2010 and 2011. Busch won five of the seven events he drove in those colors.

This weekend’s event at Charlotte Motor Speedway marks a return to NASCAR’s home base for the first time since Memorial Day Weekend, when the entire industry was mourning, and in shock, over the devastating loss of one of NASCAR’s most prominent and popular drivers, Kyle Busch.

Halmar Friesen Racing is joining Spire Motorsports in running throwback schemes honoring Busch and his time in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, both as a driver and as the owner of Kyle Busch Motorsports.
