Welcome to JosephSrigley.com! If you’ve stumbled across this part of the website and still have absolutely no idea who I am and what I’m doing, that’s okay, because I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself and how I’ve gotten to this point.

As I’m sure you have figured out by this point, my name is Joseph Srigley. I’m a NASCAR journalist and statistician based in Ontario, Canada, and I’ve spent the last seven years working for several reputable outlets like TobyChristie.com, Racing America, and On SI (the sister website to Sports Illustrated). Throughout the last couple of years, I’ve been lucky enough to make it a full-time job in the process.

I first joined the industry in January 2020 as a 19-year-old University student who didn’t know much, other than that I wanted to be involved in NASCAR — the sport I had watched and loved throughout my childhood. Earlier attempts at breaking into the industry included a stint trying to design paint schemes, before realizing art wasn’t necessarily where my strengths lay.

The original concept of my contributing to TobyChristie.com was to upload spreadsheets to the website — spreadsheets I had made with unique statistics I had been tracking over a couple of years. However, that quickly turned into doing some writing, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I enjoyed nearly seven years at TobyChristie.com, where I climbed the ladder from Contributor to Managing Editor to Editor-in-Chief, which eventually led to other opportunities with Racing America and On SI. However, in April 2026, due to reasons out of my control, my full-time position was discontinued, leaving me as a free agent in the middle of the NASCAR season.

It’s been an uncertain time… I’ve spent about a month looking for a similar position, but with the industry in the state it’s currently in, and the fact that the current season is nearing its halfway point, nothing has reared its head. However, that also gave me some time to reflect, and as I’ve been continuing to deliver NASCAR news via social media, I’ve realized something important: I still want to be writing about NASCAR.

Thus, the creation of JosephSrigley.com. Now, I have an outlet to tell the stories that I want to be telling, and deliver the news that I think is important to deliver, to an audience that I hope to build over the coming months, and if things end up going well, maybe even years.

Is it going to be a successful endeavor? Who knows. But the fear of failure isn’t going to stop me from doing it anyway. In the meantime, I hope those of you who have made it this far are willing to help support me along the way.

Thanks,
