While piloting a throwback paint scheme to honor the late Kyle Busch, Connor Mosack, driver of the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports, will lead the field to green in Friday’s EcoSave 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Searching for his first career victory in the NASCAR Truck Series, Mosack was the only driver in the 36-truck field to dip into the 29-second bracket in qualifying, posting a fast time of 29.961 seconds (180.234mph) to win the pole.
It’s Mosack’s second career pole in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, and his first since February 2025 at EchoPark Speedway, while driving full-time in the No. 81 for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.
“It’s a great question, obviously tonight’s for Kyle [Busch] and everybody at Spire is wanting to celebrate him, a lot of former KBM people and just really special to me to be able to run this scheme, his last win at KBM at Pocono in 2023 and just thank you to PurePEX for being on-board with it and going along with everything, it’s been an awesome to be part of that group and obviously we’ve got a really good truck here tonight, needs a bit of work on the long-run, but we’re not too far off, so I think we can work on it and get a win for Kyle tonight.”
Tanner Gray, a two-time polesitter at Charlotte Motor Speedway, will start on the outside of the front row in the No. 15 Black’s Tire Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. In the last four NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series events at the racetrack (that have featured qualifying), Gray has started on the front row.
NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series points leader Kaden Honeycutt will roll from the third position, with Rajah Caruth in fourth and Landen Lewis rounding out the top-five. Bayley Currey, Grant Enfinger, Christian Eckes, Andres Perez De Lara, and Chandler Smith rounded out the top-10 in qualifying.
Other drivers currently in the Chase that qualified outside the top-10 include: Ben Rhodes (12th), Layne Riggs (13th), Daniel Hemric (16th), Ty Majeski (17th), Tyler Ankrum (25th), and Gio Ruggiero (36th). Ruggiero was unable to turn a lap in qualifying due to an axle seal issue.
The EcoSave 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will take place Friday, October 9 at 5:00 PM ET on FOX.
