Cole Custer will continue as the NASCAR Cup Series pilot for Haas Factory Team in 2027, the team announced on Friday.
The Ladera Ranch, California-native, a former champion of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, will be returning for a third consecutive season as the driver of the No. 41 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at NASCAR’s top level.
“We are excited to have Cole Custer back in the No. 41 Haas Factory Team Chevrolet for 2027,” said Gene Haas, owner of Haas Factory Team. “Cole is a championship-caliber driver who brings the consistency we need on a weekly basis and we are proud to continue to support him in the NASCAR Cup Series.”
In the last two seasons of competing for HFT in the NASCAR Cup Series, Custer has recorded a pair of top-five finishes (a fourth at Daytona in the Summer of 2025 and a fifth at Talladega in the Fall of 2025), as well as four top-10 results.
The 28-year-old driver won his first NASCAR Cup Series race during his first stint with Stewart-Haas Racing, taking the checkered flag at Kentucky Speedway in 2020 with a daring four-wide pass in NASCAR Overtime.
After spending three years in the NASCAR Cup Series with Stewart-Haas Racing from 2020 to 2022, Custer was brought back down to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2023, where he returned to his winning ways and hoisted the 2023 championship trophy.
Custer’s NASCAR National Series stat line includes 17 victories – 15 in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and two in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series – as well as 82 top-five finishes, 162 top-10s, and 27 pole positions.
The driver of the No. 41 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will kick off the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series campaign with the DAYTONA 500 on Sunday, February 21, 2027.
