Tyler Ankrum will not be returning to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2027.

The San Bernardino, California-native confirmed to JosephSrigley.com’s Jared Haas during a NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series media scrum at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday that he would not be reclaiming his seat in the No. 18 Chevrolet Silverado RST next season.

Ankrum is an eight-year veteran of the NASCAR Truck Series, competing for several different championship-caliber organizations including David Gilliland Racing, GMS Racing, Hattori Racing Enterprises, and most recently, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, the team he’s been competing with since 2024.

The 25-year-old driver is a two-time winner in the division, the most-recent of which came at Rockingham Speedway on Easter Weekend in 2025, which saw Ankrum snap a winless streak of nearly six years, dating back to his rookie campaign in 2019.

Heading into this weekend’s event at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Ankrum sits 10th in NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series point standings, 127 points behind championship leader Kaden Honeycutt. In eight full-time seasons of Truck Series racing, Ankrum has four top-10 points finishes and a career-best of fourth, last season.
