Add Tyler Reddick and 23XI Racing to the list of drivers and teams planning to make spotter changes for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.
Just a couple of hours before the green flag in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Nick Payne, who has served as the spotter of the No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE for the last four seasons, confirmed that Sunday’s season-finale would mark his last race as the eyes in the sky for Tyler Reddick.
In four seasons spotting for 23XI Racing, Payne has collected 12 NASCAR Cup Series victories, including six this season with Tyler Reddick – highlighted by the 2026 DAYTONA 500.
Payne will be making the move over to Front Row Motorsports in 2027, serving as a spotter for one of the organization’s three full-time entries in the NASCAR Cup Series. Whether he will spot for Todd Gilliland, Zane Smith, or Noah Gragson is unknown.
The post reads… “Final ride on the No. 45 machine today with 23XI. What an incredible four seasons with some of the best people in the sport. 12 wins and countless good times. Wishing those guys nothing but the best. Couldn’t be happier to join Front Row Motorsports in 2027 and beyond. Honored to be a part of what they’re building and can’t wait to get to work on this next chapter. LFG.”
