Joey Logano had complete control of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Talladega Superspeedway with less than 10 laps to go, and in the blink of an eye, the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang Dark Horse was sliding upside down in the tri-oval.

Logano had the most dramatic-looking ride in the wreck that occurred with five laps to go, with his Team Penske machine pirouetting upside down and sliding across the tri-oval towards Turn 1 before coming to rest upside down.

However, Riley Herbst, driving the No. 35 Monster Energy Toyota Camry XSE had a pretty severe hit too, going from the inside lane to the outside wall to make a significant impact, which appeared to knock the brakes out of the 23XI Racing machine, launching him at near full speed towards the inside SAFER Barrier.

The AMR Safety Team helped both Logano and Herbst out of their vehicles, and Logano, a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, was checked and released from the infield care center. Per NASCAR, Herbst has also been released.

More updates will be added as they become available.
