In 136 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts, Ty Majeski has quietly acquired an impressive stash of pole positions, collecting his 14th on Friday at Talladega Superspeedway, ahead of the Love’s RV Stops 225 (4:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1).

Piloting the iconic No. 88 Menards Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, Majeski, a native of Seymour, Wisconsin, was the only driver to dip into the 53-second bracket, posting a time of 53.983 seconds (177.389mph) to earn his third pole of 2026, all of which have come on superspeedways (including Michigan International Speedway).

Of Majeski’s 14 career poles (tying him for eighth on the all-time list with Corey Heim) in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, three have come at Daytona International Speedway, and Friday’s marks his first at Talladega Superspeedway.

Sammy Smith, piloting the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports, was the second-fastest driver in qualifying for Friday’s event. Smith was announced Friday morning as the new driver of the No. 15 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage in 2027, replacing Tanner Gray.

TRICON Garage held positions three and four in qualifying, though, with Kaden Honeycutt in third and Gio Ruggiero, the defending NASCAR Truck Series winner at Talladega, in fourth. Cole Butcher rounded out the top-five for ThorSport Racing. It’s the third top-five start of 2026 for the No. 13.

Austin Green, making his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut in the No. 77 for Spire Motorsports, will start from the sixth position, with Tyler Ankrum in seventh, Corey Heim in eighth, Layne Riggs in ninth, and Ben Rhodes rounding out the top-10.

Other drivers in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Chase starting outside the top-10 include Chandler Smith in 14th, Grant Enfinger in 18th, Christian Eckes in 20th, and Daniel Hemric in 27th.

With 38 drivers on the premises at Talladega, two drivers that were outside the top-31 on speed were sent home early, that being Norm Benning in his self-owned No. 6, and Bryan Dauzat, making his final NASCAR CRAFTSMANT ruck Series attempt for FDNY Racing.
