Lee Pulliam is back in the No. 87 Chevrolet Camaro for Peterson Racing this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, he confirmed Monday in a social media post, adding a fourth NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event to his 2026 schedule.
“I rode by Talladega a few years ago and thought, I wish I could have made a lap at this place,” Pulliam wrote in a post on Instagram. “I didn’t have any idea that day would come. Super excited to have the opportunity to get some superspeedway experience this weekend in the No. 87 Peterson Racing Chevrolet. Very grateful for the opportunity, and just like Las Vegas it’s going to be a weekend of learning. Thank you to each and every one of you that has been in my corner. Let’s do this.”
The 38-year-old’s superspeedway debut in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series comes as Pulliam prepares to compete full-time in NASCAR’s second-tier division for Peterson Racing, a 33-race campaign that begins at the like-minded superspeedway of Daytona in February.
Pulliam has two previous starts in the O’Reilly Series – one at Martinsville driving for JR Motorsports, and another more recently at Las Vegas driving for Peterson Racing. The Semora, North Carolina-native is also scheduled to run Martinsville.
This addition, though, comes at the expense of Austin Green, who was scheduled to run a three-race stint with Peterson Racing to end the season at Charlotte, Talladega, and Homestead. After a 23rd-place finish at Charlotte, Green has been replaced by Pulliam for Talladega and Nick Sanchez for Homestead.
