Blaine Perkins is joining Sam Hunt Racing for the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series campaign, the team confirmed on Wednesday.
Perkins will get behind the wheel of the No. 24 Toyota GR Supra as part of a multi-year agreement with Sam Hunt Racing, and will begin working with crew chief Brian Gainey at Daytona International Speedway next February.
“We’re extremely excited to have Blaine join the SHR family and continue his development with us into the future,” said Sam Hunt, Owner and President of Sam Hunt Racing. “He’s a great person, has experience in these cars, and is extremely motivated to take the next step as a driver. We are excited to embed him into our culture and give him the tools and resources he needs to be successful both on and of the track.”
The 26-year-old driver will serve as a teammate to multi-time NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series winner and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series champion Sheldon Creed in 2026. Creed will drive the team’s flagship No. 26 Toyota GR Supra.
“I’m proud to announce that I will be joining Sam Hunt Racing in a multi-year deal starting in 2027. It’s a dream come true to have the opportunity to race for SHR and Toyota,” Perkins said. “I can’t thank my sponsors and supporters enough for helping make a long-time dream of mine into my new reality.”
Perkins spent the last two seasons piloting the No. 31 Chevrolet Camro for Jordan Anderson Racing, in which time the Bakersfield, California-native posted five top-10 finishes, including a career-best sixth-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway last Fall.
