Daniel Suarez and Spire Motorsports have agreed to a contract extension to keep the Monterrey, Mexico-native in the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series campaign, the team announced on Tuesday.
Suarez joined Spire Motorsports at the beginning of this season on a one-year deal and has taken nicely to the organization, going to Victory Lane in the Coca-Cola 600 – one of the most prestigious events in NASCAR – while also qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Chase.
“I’m really excited to continue with Spire Motorsports. I believe in this team and, more importantly, the people behind it. We’ve made a lot of progress this year, and it’s been rewarding to see how much we’ve grown together. Making the Chase was an important milestone for us, and I think it shows what we’re capable of as a team. There’s a lot of talent and determination within this organization, and I truly believe in the direction we’re heading. We’ve built a strong foundation, and I’m looking forward to continuing that momentum and seeing what more we can accomplish together.”
This season, Suarez has one win, three top-fives, seven top-10, and 25 top-20 finishes, with an average starting position of 14.3 and an average finish of 15.2. The driver of the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro enters this weekend’s event at Phoenix sitting 215 points behind Kyle Larson, the NASCAR Cup Series points leader.
2027 will mark Suarez’s 10th full-time campaign in the NASCAR Cup Series.
