After spending more than a decade competing part-time in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series with FDNY Racing, Bryan Dauzat is gearing up for one last ride in the No. 28 FDNY / OB Builders Chevrolet Silverado RST.
FDNY Racing confirmed on Thursday that the 67-year-old driver from Alexandria, Louisiana, will be retiring from NASCAR Truck Series competition following the October 23 event at Talladega Superspeedway.
Dauzat has been a member of the FDNY Racing organization since 2014, and since then, has attempted to qualify for 30 NASCAR Truck Series events, qualifying for 23 of them, and collecting a pair of top-10 finishes; one at Talladega Superspeedway in 2018 (P8) and another at Daytona International Speedway in 2024 (P9).
“We would like to thank Bryan [Dauzat] for all he has done for the team the past 12 years and wish him luck on his future endeavours and a happy retirement,” a social media post from FDNY Racing reads.
FDNY Racing, owned by Jim Rosenblum, is the longest-running (non-consecutive) NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series organization in the series’ history, debuting during the division’s inaugural campaign in 1995 with Kerry Teague behind the wheel. The organization adopted the No. 28 as its truck number in 1999 and has utilized it ever since with a myriad of drivers behind the wheel.
Dauzat will retire from NASCAR Truck Series competition as the driver with the most starts for the iconic FDNY Racing team, at 24, should he qualify for October’s event at Talladega.
At this time, FDNY Racing plans to continue racing in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series) in 2027 and beyond with a different driver, whose identity will be confirmed prior to the start of next season.
