Nick Sanchez, a Miami-native, will lead the field to green in Friday’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, in his fourth Truck Series start of the year and third start in the No. 77 for Spire Motorsports.
Piloting the multi-colored Modo Casino-sponsored machine, Sanchez laid down a heater in Friday’s qualifying session from the 1.5-mile racetrack in Miami, Florida, collecting his eighth career pole in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and his first since 2024.
Posting a lap time of 32.756 seconds (164.855mph), Sanchez had an advantage of nearly a tenth of a second in qualifying over Front Row Motorsports driver Chandler Smith, putting Spire Motorsports on pole for the fifth time in the 25-race NASCAR Truck Series campaign.
Corey Heim, piloting the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage, will start in third-place, followed by the two drivers still mathematically eligible to win the championship – Layne Riggs and Kaden Honeycutt – starting in fourth and fifth.
Riggs, driving the No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports, enters Friday’s season-finale 20 points behind Kaden Honeycutt, driving the truck that captured the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series title last season in the No. 11 Safelite Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.
Stewart Friesen will roll from the sixth position, with Gio Ruggiero in seventh, Tanner Gray eighth, Connor Mosack ninth, and Ty Majeski rounding out the top-10.
Connor Hall, driving the No. 4 for Niece Motorsports, recorded a career-best qualifying result of 12th.
The highest-qualifying of the five RAM-backed trucks was Justin Haley, who put his No. 16 CELSIUS RAM 1500 in 19th position. His teammates were 21st (Queen), 23rd (Kligerman), 26th (LaJoie), and 31st (Tyrrell).
The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will take place on Friday at 7:30 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
