Dawson Sutton is skipping Saturday’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event at Kansas Speedway, Rackley WAR confirmed Monday in a social media post, to compete in a Super Late Model event at Five Flags Speedway – in preparation for December’s Snowball Derby.

Sutton, the son of Rackley W.A.R. co-owner, Curtis Sutton, has served as the primary driver of the team’s No. 26 Chevrolet Silverado RST for the last two seasons in the NASCAR Truck Series, and will return to competition in October at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Toni Breidinger, per NASCAR’s Entry List, has been tapped to drive the No. 26 Chevrolet Silverado RST at Kansas Speedway, the site of her NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut and career-best finish of 15th (2023).

Breidinger, a native of San Francisco, California, has been competing part-time in the Truck Series this year between Rackley W.A.R. in the No. 27 and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the No. 20, attempting to qualify for a total of seven races.

Saturday’s Race to Stop Suicide 200 at Kansas marks an addition to Breidinger’s eight-race schedule with Rackley W.A.R, which, after this weekend, is scheduled to wrap up at Talladega Superspeedway in October.

It’s been a bit of a tough year for Breidinger, though, who, in seven attempts, has only qualified for three events, all for Rackley W.A.R. at Texas, Dover, and IRP, taking home a best finish of 18th. In New Hampshire, Breidinger was shifted into the No. 26 to ensure she made the race, but after Dawson Sutton had mechanical issues in the No. 27, and failed to qualify, the team elected to undo their number swap, leaving Breidinger on the sidelines.

Bruce Cook will slot into the role of crew chief, one week after the departure of Chad Kendrick for Kaulig Racing.

The Race to Stop Suicide 200 at Kansas Speedway will take place on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 PM ET on FS1.
