The winner of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series event at World Wide Technology Raceway will be receiving a special trophy in Victory Lane, the first of its kind, as the racetrack unveiled a special dedication to Kyle Busch – The Rowdy Trophy.
WWT Raceway unveiled this newly designed winner’s trophy ahead of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series events at the 1.25-mile racetrack, where Kyle Busch secured his final win at NASCAR’s top-level in 2023.
Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41 in May after a brief and sudden illness. The Rowdy Trophy is the latest in a line of incredible displays of respect and honor for the winningest driver in the history of NASCAR’s National Series.
The trophy, which prominently features an image of Busch’s famous victory celebration, is inscribed with the words: “In recognition of his contribution to the sport and his final win at WWT Raceway.”
On the side of the trophy are the three car numbers that represent the three phases of Busch’s NASCAR Cup Series career – the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5, the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18, and the Richard Childress Racing No. 8.
