For the first time in nearly a year, Bayley Currey is returning to the driver’s seat in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, this time partnering with TRICON Garage to pilot the No. 5 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.
With more than 200 starts across NASCAR’s National Series, Currey has spent almost a decade competing mainly in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and has developed a reputation for outperforming his equipment.
Just last season, Currey ran 16 of the 25 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series events in an entry for Niece Motorsports, an effort that netted him a single top-five and three top-10 finishes. But, over the off-season, the 29-year-old made a change.
Currey departed Niece Motorsports at the end of last season to join TRICON Garage, where, instead of serving as a driver, he took up a job as the Truck Chief of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro – which, throughout the season, has had an assortment of drivers.
“Bayley’s been a key addition to our team, and we’re so excited to see him get an opportunity that he’s long deserved,” said No. 1 Crew Chief Jerame Donley. “He’s been putting in the work using all of the TRD tools to perform at the highest level. He may be our competitor at Bristol, but we’re still certainly going to be cheering him on.”
Now, at Bristol Motor Speedway (September 17) and Charlotte Motor Speedway (October 9), Currey will be one of those drivers. At Bristol, sponsorship will come from Monster Truck Wars’ most popular Monster Truck, Shark Attack, a four-time and current National Champion.
“I feel like this is the best opportunity I have had in my career, and I’m excited to show everyone what I’m capable of,” said Bayley Currey. “After being part of the team and seeing all the work that goes into these trucks, I know it will be worth having to wait. Obviously, a huge thank you to Monster Truck Wars, TRICON, and TRD for the opportunity.”
Currey will hit the track at Bristol Motor Speedway for the first race of the 2026 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Chase for The Championship on Thursday, September 17.
