Although he is not known for being a dirt racer, it will be Max Reaves, driving the No. 18 Victory Junction Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing, who will lead the field to the green flag in Sunday’s Calypso 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack.
Reaves posted the fastest time of 33.999 seconds (105.885mph) during the single-car qualifying session. It is Reaves’ fifth career pole in the ARCA Menards Series, and his second of 2026. In addition to winning the pole, he was also fastest in the 30-minute practice session.
Pinnacle Racing Group’s Carson Brown posted the second quickest time of 34.432 seconds (104.554mph), four tenths off of the pole speed set by Reaves. Thomas Annunziata, who is slowly closing in on the ARCA Menards Series points lead, finished out the top-three spots.
Annunziata’s Nitro Motorsports teammate Isabella Robusto and Taylor Reimer, who both have a previous dirt racing background, rounded out the top-five positions.
Sean Corr settled for the sixth position. Gavan Boschele, who competed in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the previous day, will start seventh. Tim Monroe, Kelly Kovski, and ARCA Menards Series points leader Jake Bollman completed the top-10 in qualifying.
Dale Shearer (No. 98) and Brayton Laster (No. 83) were the only drivers who did not post a lap during the single-car qualifying session.
The Calypso 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack will take place on Sunday, August 23, at 2 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
