In an interesting and quite unusual turn of events, Rackley W.A.R. is putting Dawson Sutton back behind the wheel of the No. 26 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Saturday’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Team EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Sutton, the sole full-time driver for the organization, was originally scheduled to pilot Rackley’s second entry, the No. 27 (albeit with the same people who work on the No. 26 on a week-to-week basis), so that Toni Breidinger, the team’s part-time driver, would qualify for the event.

Breidinger had primary sponsorship from Raising Cane’s this weekend, while Sutton was running with his typical Rackley Roofing primary sponsorship – a company owned by team co-owner, Curtis Sutton, Dawson’s father.

The situation got kind of complication on Friday, though, when Sutton had significant brake issues during the 50-minute practice session for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, which only allowed him to turn four laps around the 1.058-mile short track, and then, didn’t allow him to turn a lap during qualifying.

With the second-biggest entry list of the season (aside from the season-opener at Daytona), and the low owner points position for the No. 27 Chevrolet Silverado RST, Sutton was unable to fall back on a provisional to qualify for the event, joining Luke Baldwin, Mason Massey, Derek White, and D.L Wilson.

Breidinger went 34th fastest of 41 trucks in qualifying and had to rely on a provisional to get the No. 26 Chevrolet Silverado RST in the show. But, Breidinger won’t get to drive the truck in Saturday’s Team EJP 175.

Matt Weaver of Motorsport.com reports that Rackley WAR is putting Sutton back in the No. 26 for Saturday’s event. Toni Breidinger will not compete.

The Team EJP 175 will take place Saturday, August 22 at 1:30 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
