For the first time since 2019, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Located in Bowmanville, Ontario – just north of Toronto – Canadian Tire Motorsports Park spent seven years on the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series schedule, from 2013 to 2019, and during that time, provided several incredible, once-in-a-lifetime moments, including the first NASCAR National Series victory for now-NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott.

The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will be joining the highly popular NASCAR Canada Series, as the closing ceremony for the racetrack’s annual Labor Day Weekend celebration, on Sunday, September 5. The 2.459-mile road course will be the site of a standalone event for the series, as NASCAR’s Cup and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will be racing at Darlington on the same weekend.

Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (affectionately known as “Mosport” or “CTMP”) has been host to a litany of incredible moments throughout the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series’ history.

In 2013, Chase Elliott made a last-lap, last-corner bump-and-run pass for the victory on Ty Dillon, his first NASCAR National Series victory. The following year, Ryan Blaney and Germain Quiroga drag raced to the start-finish for the victory (advantage Blaney).

The fourth edition of the Truck Series at CTMP (2016), saw one of the most iconic moments in NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series history, when John Hunter Nemechek and Cole Custer were beating and banging off the racetrack coming to the start-finish line. Custer charged towards race-winner Nemechek after the event and tackled him on the forestretch.

Austin Cindric used the bump-and-run strategy in Turn 5 to win his first NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event in 2017, while the following year, the second-to-last event for the series in Canada, saw teammates Todd Gilliland and Noah Gragson crash in the final corner, handing the win to Justin Haley.

In seven races at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (CTMP), seven different drivers won: Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, John Hunter Nemechek, Austin Cindric, Justin Haley, and Brett Moffitt. Two of those seven drivers are NASCAR Cup Series champions, and six of them have gone on to win in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The highly-anticipated return of Canadian Tire Motorsports Park continues an interesting schedule reveal for the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, which is trickling out on a track-by-track basis.
