NASCAR has announced that it will recognize Tuesday, August 18 as Kyle Busch Day, celebrating the life, career, and legacy of the late two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, who tragically passed away in May due to complications from pneumonia.
Throughout the day, NASCAR will be highlighting Busch across its digital and social media channels using the hashtags #KyleBuschDay and #ForeverRowdy, with additional programming and content coming throughout the day.
The date brings together the two numbers that have been most closely associated with Busch and his illustrious career across NASCAR’s National Series – the No. 8, which he drove during his three-season stint at Richard Childress Racing, up until his passing in May, and the No. 18, which he carried proudly from 2008 to 2021 as part of Joe Gibbs Racing.
The celebration of Kyle Busch Day provides the NASCAR community with an opportunity to celebrate Kyle Busch, not just as a race car driver, but also has a person: a generational talent, the ultimate showman, a devoted family man, and a competitor, owner and mentor whose influence can be felt throughout today’s garage and will be for many years to come.
The NASCAR Channel on Tubi will spend the day replaying some of Kyle Busch’s most iconic racing moments:

Twice during his NASCAR career (2010 and 2017), Busch went to Victory Lane on what is now considered Kyle Busch Day (August 18).
In 2010, Busch won the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event at Bristol Motor Speedway, and went on to win both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events at Bristol, too, making him the first driver in history to sweep all three national series on the same weekend.
Seven years later, in 2017, Busch won the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 18, and after previously winning the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event went on to win the NASCAR Cup Series event and make history again — sweeping the top-three series in a single weekend, again, and remaining the only driver to do so.
