Christopher Bell will not be competing in the postponed NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday, Halmar Friesen Racing confirmed on Friday evening.
Bell was scheduled to pilot the No. 62 Halmar Infrastructure Development Toyota Tundra TRD Pro in the Black’s Tire 250 at the 0.75-mile short track, but due to prior commitments, will be unable to compete in the rescheduled event – taking place at Noon ET on Saturday.
Leland Honeyman, Jr. will drive the No. 62 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.
“Due to the postponement at Richmond and a prior commitment for Christopher Bell, Leland Honeyman, Jr. will take over driving duties for the rescheduled race,” the statement reads. “Bell will return to Halmar Friesen Racing next weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.”
Bell was scheduled to start the 250-lapper from 17th-place. Honeyman will be credited with that same starting spot but will drop to the rear at the green flag, due to the driver change. The Mooresville, North Carolina-native joined Halmar Friesen Racing for an event at Charlotte earlier in the season and finished 23rd after starting sixth.
The 21-year-old driver has 66 starts in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, with a single top-five result and four top-10s. In two previous starts at Richmond Raceway, Honeyman has finished 20th and 25th for Young’s Motorsports and Alpha Prime Racing.
As mentioned in Halmar Friesen Racing’s statement, Christopher Bell will drive the No. 62 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro at Richmond Raceway.
