NTT INDYCAR Series driver Louis Foster is dipping his toes into the world of NASCAR, competing in next weekend’s NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event at Lime Rock Park for Freedom Racing Enterprises.

Foster will pilot the No. 76 DROPLiGHT Chevrolet Silverado RST in the July 11 event. DROPLiGHT is a main sponsor of the 22-year-old’s efforts in the NTT INDYCAR Series, where he pilots the No. 45 for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

“This is quite the exciting opportunity and a bit of a bucket list item for me, personally,” Foster said in a team release. “I like to run different circuits in iRacing and NASCAR vehicles are at the top of fun things to drive. So, when Spencer [Boyd] and DROPLiGHT reached out with this opportunity, it was a pretty easy yes for me.”

Freedom Racing Enterprises has spent the year with co-owner and primary driver, Spencer Boyd, behind the wheel of the No. 76 on ovals, but when it comes to the road courses, has put Nathan Nicholson behind the wheel at St. Pete, Watkins Glen, and the series’ last event at Naval Base Coronado. In three starts, Nicholson showed impressive speed, but issues on-track left his best finish as a 20th at Watkins Glen.

“We’ve shown some great speed with our road course program this season,” said Spencer Boyd, owner and primary driver of the No. 76. “It was our goal this season to stay focused on the No. 76 this year, while bringing road course talent to showcase our abilities in building fast trucks. The schedules aligned so that we could execute this crossover with Louis at Lime Rock and we are proud to be the ones getting him his first drive in a NASCAR race truck.”

DROPLiGHT is debuting this livery, the one that will appear in the NASCAR 26 console game this Fall, at Lime Rock Park with Louis Foster.

“These are type of partnerships we seek to build.  Ones that push the envelopes of traditional thinking.  Ones that seek innovative ways to advance our brands.  We are delighted to have both Spencer and Louis on our crew and are eagerly anticipating this race in Connecticut,” said Joseph Anderson, CEO of DROPLiGHT.

The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series event at Lime Rock Park will take place on Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
