Anthony Alfredo and Parker Retzlaff, after what can only be described as breakout seasons in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, will be returning to Viking Motorsports in 2027, the team confirmed on Thursday.
In an effort to continue building on what was a stunning campaign for the multi-car organization – with seven top-five and 22 top-10 finishes – both Joshua Graham and Danny Efland will be staying on as shot-callers of the No. 96 and No. 99 Chevrolets.
“Keeping Anthony [Alfredo], Parker [Retzlaff], Josh [Graham], and Denny [Efland] together was a priority for us heading into 2027,” said Don Sackett, Owner of Viking Motorsports. “Both of these teams have shown what they’re capable of this season. The way the No. 96 group has come together over the back-half of the season has been impressive, and the No. 99 making the Chase in just its second full-time year says a lot about the people at Viking Motorsports. Continuity matters in this sport, and we believe these four give us the right foundation to keep moving forward.”
A native of Ridgefield, Connecticut, Anthony Alfredo has spent the last number of years bouncing between teams across NASCAR’s National Series, before landing at Viking Motorsports in 2026. Now, for the first time in his career, the 27-year-old driver will remain at the same organization in consecutive years.
“We’ve come a long way since this team was put together last December,” said Alfredo. “Josh and I have worked together before, and the whole No. 96 crew has put in the work to get where we are now. The way we’ve been running lately shows where this team is headed. Being able to carry that momentum into the off-season is huge for us.”
Alfredo and Viking Motorsports have come a long way since the disappointment of missing the show in February at Daytona. In the last eight races, Alfredo has recorded five top-10 finishes and led laps in three races.
Parker Retzlaff and Denny Efland will look to build off of the momentum they’ve collected this season by making the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Chase.
“I’m really grateful to the ownership and everyone at Viking Motorsports for the opportunity to come back,” said Parker Retzlaff. “This has been the best year of my career, and a lot of that comes down to the team assembled around me. Making the Chase was a big goal for us, but none of us are satisfied. We know each other now and we know what we need, so having another year with the same group has me excited for what we can do in 2027.”
With two races remaining in the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series campaign, Parker Retzlaff sits 11th in points, with Alfredo in 16th. Retzlaff holds the best-ever finish for Viking in second at EchoPark Speedway in February of this year.
Viking Motorsports will make additional announcements regarding partnership agreements for the No. 96 and No. 99 at a later date.
