Eric Johnson Jr. will not return to Jerry Pitts Racing for the 2027 ARCA Menards Series West season, himself and the team confirmed on Monday.

The 23-year-old from La Center, Washington, has 40 career ARCA Menards Series West starts, earning a best finish of second at Tuscon Speedway in 2025. Although he has been close to victory, he’s earned a total of nine top fives in the span of two years for the Jerry Pitts Racing team.

“I can’t thank Jerry, Dustin, and the entire Jerry Pitts Racing crew enough for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to my development over the past two years” Johnson said in the press release. “We’ve grown together as a team and built memories and relationships I’ll carry with me for a lifetime. I have no doubt that whoever steps into the No. 5 next season will be in great hands.”

Johnson also revealed that his 2027 plans are secured, and that they will be announced at a later date. He will cap off his two year run with JPR this Saturday with the NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, where he will look to put on a strong performance in his final start for the team.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the time Eric has spent with Jerry Pitts Racing and proud of what we’ve accomplished together” team owner Jerry Pitts said in the press release. “As we evaluate our options for 2027, we wish Eric nothing but continued success in the next chapter of his career.”
