Erik Jones has inked a multi-year contract extension with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB.
The Byron, Michigan-native, who has remained the driver of the No. 43 through the organization’s transition from Richard Petty Motorsports to Petty GMS Motorsports to LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, will continue to hold the ride for years to come.
“I’m excited to continue to be a part of what LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is building,” said Erik Jones. “I took over the No. 43 in 2021, and it’s become a big part of my career. Through every change, we continue to get better and I’m happy to be a part of that. Especially this season, I feel like we’ve hit on something and been consistent. I’m thankful to get the chance to continue building on that in the years to come.”
Jones, entering his 11th full-time campaign in the NASCAR Cup Series, will serve as the veteran presence in the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB organization in 2027, as the newly expanded three-car effort will also include Josh Berry in the No. 42 and Riley Herbst in the No. 84.
“Erik Jones is the cornerstone of what we are building at LEGACY — and he has earned that,” said Jimmie Johnson, co-owner of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB. “He has been a part of this organization through every stage of its evolution, and his consistency, professionalism, and knowledge of what it takes to compete at this level are exactly what we need as we bring in new drivers and build toward 2027. Keeping Erik in the No. 43 for the long term was a priority for us, and we are glad to have it done.”
At 30 years old, Jones is a three-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and a two-time Southern 500 winner (2019 and 2022). His resume also includes nine wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and seven wins in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.

In 354 starts at NASCAR’s top-level, Jones has 44 top-five and 100 top-10 finishes.

With six races left in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series campaign, Jones currently sits 21st in point standings, just 21 points outside of the top-20.
