Josh Berry has found a home in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2027.
On Tuesday, LEGACY MOTOR CLUB confirmed via their exclusive fan newsletter program that the Hendersonville, Tennessee-native would take over the No. 42 Toyota Camry XSE, starting next February at Daytona International Speedway.
Berry has spent the last three seasons competing on a full-time basis at NASCAR’s top-level – first with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2024, before jumping over to Wood Brothers Racing for 2025 and 2026.

The 35-year-old driver went to Victory Lane at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Spring 2025, his only victory in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Since confirmation in June that Berry wouldn’t return to Wood Brothers Racing (in favor of defending NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champion Jesse Love), the short-track-race turned NASCAR star has put together an incredible streak of top-10 results, stretching six races.
With his rebound late in the season, Berry has jumped from 33rd to 25th in NASCAR Cup Series point standings, and was the right fit for when LEGACY MOTOR CLUB confirmed that John Hunter Nemechek wouldn’t be returning to the team in 2027.
