Carson Brown, the Richard Childress Racing development driver, had to face some late competition during the final laps of Sunday’s Audubon Park 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. And sure enough, he was able to prevail in dominating fashion.

Driving the No. 28 Klean Freak Chevrolet SS for Pinnacle Racing Group, Brown made a move on Gavan Boschele on the penultimate restart with eight laps to go, and later pulled away to grab his second career ARCA Menards Series win, and his second of 2026.

“[The win was] because of all my guys,” Brown said post-race. “The dirt was really dry today until now. Now it’s really muddy on my suit. Just can’t thank these guys enough. There’s been a black cloud over us for the greater part of three months now. Hopefully we can keep this going.”

Brown started out the day by winning the Sioux Chief PowerPEX Pole Award for the fifth time in 2026, and his fourth in the last six races. He ended up being the car to beat, leading a race-high 90 laps in a dominating fashion. However, after getting caught up behind Nitro Motorsports teammates Gavan Boschele and Jake Bollman with under 20 laps to go, Brown had to test how his car could handle in dirty air.

“I knew we struggled in dirty air,” Brown said post-race. “I felt like the track got really dirty there on the restarts. As everyone was piled together, the track just got really dirty, and our car lacked grip in those conditions. Once everything cleaned off on those longer green flag runs, we were very good. A big thank you to this crew for getting this thing back to Victory Lane.”

ARCA Menards Series points leader Bollman continued with his consistent runs, picking up his fourth runner-up finish of 2026. He was able to extend his points gap over Nitro Motorsports teammate Annunziata by just eight points with three races left in the year.

“I feel like I was way more aggressive tonight than I have been all year,” Bollman said post-race. “It’s time to change, right? Everyone else is going to be aggressive, so I put it in my mind [on Sunday] that I wasn’t going to give an inch. I feel like we had something for [Brown] at one point in the race, but kind of lost it at the end.”

Kelly Kovski, who made his final career dirt start in the ARCA Menards Series, edged out Boschele in a photo finish to earn a respectful third-place finish. Annunziata rebounded from a late spin in the early running and rounded out the top-five positions.

Taylor Reimer, who went through several moments of adversity throughout the event, settled for the sixth position. Father and son duo Jason and Isaac Kitzmiller finished seventh and eighth, respectively, as Chase Howard and Ryan Vargas completed the top-10 spots.

Max Reaves was not able to complete his task of winning both dirt races to earn $20,000 as part of the Audubon Park Dirt Double after a vicious wreck with 22 laps to go, ending his race early.

The ARCA Menards Series competitors will be back in action on September 12 at Salem Speedway for the Spruce 212, which will be broadcast flag-to-flag on FOX at 8 PM ET.
