On Tuesday (May 19), the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Voting Panel convened at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, to elect three members to the Class of 2027 — Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Larry Phillips.

The voting results were presented by Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR’s newly-appointed CEO, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, where Lesa France Kennedy was also announced as the winner of the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.

Kevin Harvick (92% of the vote) and Jeff Burton (32% of the vote) were the two individuals selected from the Modern Era Ballot. Neil Bonnett was third, with Randy Dorton fourth and Greg Biffle in fifth. Larry Phillips (38% of the vote) was selected from five nominees on the Pioneer Ballot.

Harvick, 50, retired from full-time driving at the end of 2023 with 60 NASCAR Cup Series victories and a championship in 2014. The Bakersfield, California-native also won titles in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2001 and 2004. Now, Harvick is an analyst for FOX Sports.

Burton, 58, was a 21-time NASCAR Cup Series race-winner and a 27-time NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series winner. Since he retired from full-time racing, Burton has served as an analyst for NBC Sports and an advisor for NASCAR’s Driver Council.

Larry Phillips was the first of two drivers to win five NASCAR Weekly Series national championships. From 1989 to 1996, the Springfield, Missouri-native won 220 of 289 NASCAR-sanctioned events, including 13 track championships in three different states.

Results from the NASCAR.com Fan Vote had Harry Hyde winning the Pioneer Ballot, and Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick being voted in via the Modern Era Ballot.

The two Modern Era inductees came from a group of 10 nominees that included: Greg Biffle, Neil Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Jeff Burton, Randy Dorton, Ray Elder, Ernie Elliott, Kevin Harvick, Randy LaJoie, and Jack Sprague.

Nominees for the Pioneer Ballot included: Ray Fox, Harry Hyde, Banjo Matthews, Herb Nab, and Larry Phillips.

Nominees for the Landmark Award included Alvin Hawkins, Lesa France Kennedy, Dr. Joseph Mattioli, Les Richter, and T. Wayne Robertson.

The Class of 2027 Induction Ceremony is set for Friday, January 22, 2027, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tickets will be available on June 10 on NASCARHall.com.
