Last week’s winner at Bristol Motor Speedway, Joey Logano, was in line for a 12th-place finish before a right-front tire came apart at Kansas Speedway with 3 laps to go.
On the replay, Logano drifted up high off Turn 4 near Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s car. Stenhouse posted on X that the two cars did not make contact.
Logano rode around for the rest of the race with a right-front tire that was coming apart. He did not pit, but still lost eight spots and finished 20th.
After the race, Logano said in a press release: “We worked hard to keep ourselves in the mix, so it was frustrating to have the tire issue at the end. We’ll put this one behind us and see if we can keep the momentum heading to Vegas.”
Logano dropped one spot in the Chase to 4th. He trails points leader Kyle Larson by 67 points heading to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
