Dean Thompson will join forces with Haas Factory Team in 2027.
The 25-year-old driver will pilot a Chevrolet Camaro for the Gene Haas-owned NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series operation, which, beginning next season, will be fielding three full-time entries in the second-tier division.
“I’m thrilled to join Haas Factory Team as the next step in my NASCAR journey,” said Thompson. “I am looking forward to competing for wins and a championship with support from MCM Transportation and Thompson Pipe Group.”
Thompson, a native of Anaheim, California, is currently in the midst of his second full-time campaign in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, driving the No. 26 Toyota GR Supra for Sam Hunt Racing. In 57 starts for the organization, Thompson has recorded a single top-five result (fifth at Charlotte in 2025) and an impressive 10 top-10 finishes – tied for the most in team history with Kaz Grala.

A pair of longtime sponsors, Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation, will support Thompson’s efforts at Haas Factory Team in 2027.
“We’re excited to welcome Dean [Thompson] to Haas Factory Team. He has shown strong progression throughout his time in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and we believe he will compete at the highest level,” said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory Team. “Along with our growing affiliate program, the addition of a third full-time entry continues to strengthen our organization.”
The 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway will mark Thompson’s first race with Haas Factory Team, but, for his sponsor, Thompson Pipe Group, the new season marks a reunion of sorts – as the company sponsored Cole Custer in the second-tier division for a total of three events in 2018 and 2019.
Haas Factory Team will announce the car number, crew chief, and additional details for Thompson’s 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series effort at a later date.
